If one looks at life as if it’s a giant puzzle to solve, then figuring out your life is most important.
For countries and organizations, “to conquer” could lead to negativity.
However, for the individual, conquering a city means something else entirely.
It means social mobility.
Social mobility is the ability to have a conversation at a street food stand, and then hop on a motorcycle for a meeting at a 5-star hotel.
This mobility is the ability to live a different life in a different country building different skills.
To conquer a city is to
thrive in your workspace and industry while learning everything new cultures have to teach you,
to afford yourself enough time to form a solid observation on how people live in an area,
and, to successfully move on to a different granular step towards your goals.
